To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the James Bond movie Goldfinger (released 17th September 1964), Anthony Sinclair has collaborated with Slazenger’s exclusive Heritage Gold label to re-issue the iconic sweater worn by Sean Connery in the legendary golf match against Auric Goldfinger.
The burgundy V-neck has been recreated in authentic detail, using the highest quality merino wool yarn and embroidered with the original 1960’s Slazenger Panther logo.
David Mason, Creative Director of Anthony Sinclair, comments: “I was very keen to introduce a special garment to celebrate the Golden Anniversary of Goldfinger. We had recreated the Prince of Wales suit a couple of years ago for the Barbican’s ’50 Years of Bond Style’ exhibition, so I was looking for something different. Sinclair made the frog-mouthed pocket trousers that Connery is wearing in the golf scene, so when Slazenger approached me to discuss developing a celebratory sweater in honour of the anniversary, I jumped at the idea!”
Anthony Sinclair tailored Sean Connery’s clothes for all of his appearances as James Bond, including the famous Prince of Wales three-piece suit in which he rolled in the hay with Pussy Galore in the Goldfinger film.
The limited edition sweater will be available from 1st October 2014 and will come packaged in a commemorative box.
The sweaters will be available to buy exclusively online at www.anthonysinclair.com.
