We took a test drive with the new Mercedes-Benz GLE, which is now available also as a coupe version. With its muscular wings, large wheel arches and the high belt line, this new Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe has a very powerful presence. The front end design details include the short overhang, upright sports grille, all-LED headlamps and forward-sloping bonnet with power domes.
Borrowing its drivetrain from the Panamera S E-Hybrid, the Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid is powered by the charged 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine paired with an electric motor. The combined total power output is 416 hp and 590 Nm of torque. With this much power, Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 5.9 seconds.
The second-generation BMW X6 has a very powerful presence. At the front end of the car, the X-shaped contour lines of the bumper, the matt-silver underbody protection, the powerful design of the BMW kidney grille and the arrangement of the twin circular headlights are the most prominent signature features of a BMW X model.
Compared to the predecessor, this new Mercedes-Benz S 400 Hybrid is 20 percent more fuel efficient. The combined NEDC fuel consumption is 6.3 l/100km and the CO2 emissions are 147 g/km. Not bad for a car that weighs close to two tons. On our test drive the combined fuel consumption was close to 9.0 l/100km.
The Volvo S80 T5 is powered by the new four-cylinder, two-litre, turbocharged petrol engine. It T5 delivers 180 kW (245 hp) at 5,500 rpm. The 350 Newton metres of torque is available between 1,500 and 4,800 rpm. Thanks to this huge torque, the engine feels much “bigger” considering that its displacement is just 1,995 cc
Audi’s flagship received a little facelift for the Model Year 2014. The engine hood, the single-frame grille and the headlights have been redesigned. At the rear, the LED lights have become flatter and are now joined together by a continuous chrome strip. Also noticeable are the two rhomboid tailpipes.
