Test Drive: 2014 Mercedes-Benz S 400 Hybrid

Compared to the predecessor, this new Mercedes-Benz S 400 Hybrid is 20 percent more fuel efficient. The combined NEDC fuel consumption is 6.3 l/100km and the CO2 emissions are 147 g/km. Not bad for a car that weighs close to two tons. On our test drive the combined fuel consumption was close to 9.0 l/100km.

Mercedes-Benz S 65 AMG Coupe

The top-of-the-range model in the new S-Class Coupé series is the Mercedes-Benz S 65 AMG Coupé with the twelve-cylinder engine. The AMG 6.0-litre V12 biturbo engine delivers a peak output of 463 kW (630 hp) and a maximum torque of 1000 Newton metres. The S 65 AMG Coupé accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h.

Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG Coupe

The AMG version of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe boasts exciting looks to emphasise its sporty performance. The front end is dominated by the three-dimensional AMG “twin-blade” radiator grille in silver chrome. The A-wing is located below the radiator grille. This three-dimensional air-ducting element is painted in the body colour, spans the entire width of the front apron and displays the stylised “A” that is a hallmark of AMG vehicles.
